- ➤ Honolulu Ocean Safety Lifeguards posted warning signs after spotting two 12-foot sharks 20 yards off Nanakuli today, urging residents to avoid the water amid an east wind advisory with 20- to 30-mph winds plus gusts up to 55 mph until 6 p.m. KITV
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Sunday’s storm gusts ripped roofs off 22 structures in Nanakuli and Salt Lake, leaving 12 residents displaced while local authorities responded to nearly 100 calls for wind damage & downed trees and power lines. Hawaii News Now

- ➤ International Shoppes will replace DFS at Daniel K. Inouye International Airport and Kahului Airport starting April 1 (10-year deal) as DFS closes earlier this year. HDOT announced the change on Feb. 10 and current DFS employees can apply for jobs at the new store locations. KITV
- ➤ Hawaii’s Pizza Hut restaurants stay open as Yum Brands closes over 200 mainland locations, and local operator RBD Hawaii is investing in renovations to serve island communities. The closures do not affect outlets managed locally. KITV

- ➤ The Department of Transportation has partnered with five private landowners to build a new emergency road for Waikōloa Village that will offer a safer exit when wildfires threaten—expected to be ready by September. - ➤ State crews will remove an old banyan tree next to Ali'iolani Hale after high winds made it lean dangerously toward the Supreme Court building (raising safety concerns). KITV

- ➤ Honolulu Ocean Safety lifeguards issued a box jellyfish advisory at Ala Moana and Waikiki today at 9:45 a.m.—reports indicate box jellyfish were seen and multiple stings occurred, so officials advise checking with lifeguards and calling 911 in an emergency. Honolulu Star-Advertiser
