- ➤ After a strong storm on Saturday, Honolulu residents dealt with widespread power outages, closed businesses, and heavy traffic as a hardware store in Hawaii Kai served customers on a propane generator. - ➤ Heavy rain on Friday caused wastewater spills across Oahu. Storage tanks at Wahiawa reached capacity at 12:44 p.m., spilling into Lake Wilson while overflows at Kaneohe Tunnel and Kailua plants discharged wastewater into Kawa Stream and Nuupia Pond, and city crews are assessing the total release.
