COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Singer Jack Johnson and his wife Kim announced a $500,000 initiative to help North Shore flood victims meet emergency needs and rebuild damaged homes and farms. The donation supports multiple fundraisers to aid local families and farmers impacted by heavy flooding.  Hawaii News Now
  • An anonymous donor has given $25,000 to the Friends of the Library of Hawaii for upgrades at Kalihi-Palama Public Library including digital technology and custom window coverings for community movie nights — a local artist painted a mural featuring humpback whales, red hibiscus and cowrie shells to showcase local spirit.  Hawaii News Now
  • Local animal rescue organizations including American Humane Rescue and Hawaii Pointer Rescue are working to save hundreds of pets affected by severe flooding on Oahu.
