- ➤ Brave, Bold and Beautiful is a new book that collects inspirational stories and photos of over 155 Hawaii women curated by kumu hula Iwalani Tseu. A signing event will take place at Bishop Museum’s Tutu’s Kitchen on Saturday, May 23 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. (Photos begin at 4 p.m.) Hawaii News Now
- ➤ Club 100 donated over 100 World War II letters written by soldiers of the 100th Infantry Battalion to LTC Farrant Turner to the State Archives Division. The donation preserves important records of wartime conditions and racism for historical research. KITV

- ➤ Local farmers near harvest are restarting after back-to-back Kona low storms caused flooding and lost crops; local relief efforts, including the new Hawaii Farmers Disaster Relief Fund, are helping cover replanting costs + repairing infrastructure across the state. Hawaii News Now
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Governor Green, Mayor Blangiardi and lawmakers are providing temporary housing for families whose homes were damaged by Kona Low storms. The state secured 80 pet-friendly rooms at the Inn at Schofield (563 Kolekole Ave.) through April 30, and the city will add over 50 more units with details coming soon. Hawaii Free Press
- ➤ Mayor Rick Blangiardi flew over Oahu one week after the Kona low storm to check storm damage and progress in debris removal in areas like Waianae, Nanakuli, and Haleiwa. City crews and the Community Assistance Center in Waialua continue working to help residents recover. KITV
