ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Recovery efforts continued across Oʻahu Monday after recent Kona low storms as officials braced for another approaching system. The Waialua Community Assistance Center served affected residents in the district park and crews prepped storm drains to reduce flooding risk later this week (1,074 properties were impacted). - ➤ Warning signs have been posted at Electric Beach (Kahe Point Beach Park) Monday afternoon after a 10-ft non-aggressive shark was spotted 50 to 100 yards from shore. Visitors are advised to check with lifeguards for current safety updates. KITV
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ On Sunday, a 24-inch water main break on Farrington Hwy in Nanakuli closed lanes and led to water conservation advice for Leeward Coast residents. Police opened Kolekole Pass — an emergency one-way route — until 9 a.m. Monday while crews repaired the break. KITV
- ➤ In June, flood zone maps will change for Oahu homes, moving hundreds out of high-risk areas while adding over 4,000 to zones that require extra flood insurance. State officials advise homeowners to review their coverage, as many policies do not include flood damage repairs (averaging $800 a day). KITV

- ➤ Wahiawā Health is extending its mobile clinic at Waialua Elementary School through April 10 to offer free care—no appointments or insurance required. KITV
