- ➤ Nearly 250 students explored education careers at the 3rd Annual Educators Redefined event on Tuesday, Mar. 31 at the Hawaii Carpenters Training Center. - ➤ Hawaii Attorney General warns residents donating for Kona Low storm relief to verify charity credentials by using official online resources and confirming details directly with organizers before giving money. Hawaii News Now
- ➤ Crews demolished a section of Aloha Stadium on Thursday in Halawa using a tripping technique to remove support structures for the upcoming New Aloha Stadium Entertainment District + demolition is set to finish in December while officials used water cannons to control dust. Hawaii News Now
- ➤ City, state and private crews began clearing a homeless camp along Kalihi Stream near Keehi Lagoon two days ago. Officials say the work will finish in six weeks before hurricane season, and residents were given 48 hours to move (outreach teams are available to assist). Hawaii News Now
- ➤ The U.S. Small Business Administration said that low-interest disaster loans are now available for local businesses, nonprofits and residents affected by Kona low storms between March 10 and 24 in Maui, Hawaii County and Honolulu; loan terms include varying amounts + deferred interest for 12 months. - ➤ The Hawaii Department of Health warned Waialua Sugar Pump 2 customers to boil water after E. coli was found in its wells and piping for 500 residents in Otake Camp and Mill Camp, and the water association is setting up temporary service and treatment while full remediation may take months.
