- ➤ On Monday night, April 28, a 23-year-old driver struck a 61-year-old pedestrian in Kalihi at about 7:20 p.m.—the man was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition and later pronounced dead, marking Oahu's 25th traffic fatality this year while investigators found no evidence of speed, drugs or alcohol. - ➤ Heavy rainfall delayed Sunday's first pitch by 30 minutes, yet pitcher Liam O’Brien and catcher Hunter Faildo led the team to an 11-4 win over Cal State Bakersfield at Les Murakami Stadium (crowd: 2,010). O’Brien allowed one hit and struck out seven in 4 2/3 innings while Faildo hit his first home run since summer ball last July (earning his third win in five decisions) to improve the team's overall record to 28-14.
