- ➤ Mail carriers gathered food donations this past weekend for the 33rd Stamp Out Hunger drive—helping the Hawaii Foodbank deliver critical supplies to residents facing food insecurity. Nearly 300 volunteers joined to unload and sort the donated items as the drive aimed to collect one million pounds of food. KITV

- ➤ Kilauea’s 21st eruption began Sunday afternoon, May 11th when lava fountains reached 125 to 150 feet from the north vent, and lava flows spread across Halema’uma’u crater after nearly five hours of low-level gas-pistoning events — USGS officials reported the activity followed earlier dome fountaining and vigorous drain backs. - ➤ Nearly 460 volunteers removed about 30 tons of trash from sites across Oahu during Earth Month. The Department of Facility Maintenance Storm Water Quality Division organized the cleanups to protect the island's environment. Honolulu Star-Advertiser
