- ➤ Federal agents indicted 16 people for a fraud ring that tricked seniors with fake alerts about hacked accounts and led to over $5 million in losses while moving $16 million in funds — arrests were made in several states including Hawaii. Hawaii Free Press
- ➤ Honolulu police recovered a body along Pali Hwy on Monday — near the Saint Stephen Diocesan Center where the right lane closed at 12:11 p.m. — and officials continue investigating even though the road has since reopened. KITV

- ➤ 47-year-old thrice-convicted felon Walter Gomes III of Pahoa allegedly carjacked an 84-year-old man in downtown Kailua-Kona on Saturday when he produced a black handgun to force the car keys, and officers later arrested him in the driver’s seat of the car in Waimea with a shotgun & live slug as he faces charges including first-degree robbery and awaits a preliminary hearing today.
