- ➤ A new exhibit called 'Divine Disruption' featuring paintings and sculptures by Nepalese artist Tsherin Sherpa opens today at the Honolulu Museum of Art. The exhibit blends Buddhist thangka art with American pop culture (inspired by Hawaii and Nepal) and runs until the end of the year. Hawaii News Now

- ➤ In April, DBEDT reported that visitor spending reached $1.77 billion and daily spending rose to $278 per person even though total arrivals dipped to 828,959. - ➤ Vassilis Syrmos (UH Mānoa Interim Provost) has been recommended by UH President Wendy Hensel to serve as the next chancellor; final approval from the UH Board of Regents will come on Thursday, June 4, and if confirmed he will start on July 1. Hawaii Free Press
- ➤ Kahuku High School’s Class of 2026 turned graduation into a concert at the Polynesian Cultural Center last week. Graduates performed live music to entertain friends and family during the ceremony. Hawaii News Now

- ➤ HMSA and Kaiser have been reappointed to the Prepaid Health Care Advisory Council that sets standards for health plans sold to Hawaii employers. - ➤ Crews are easing traffic on Kamehameha Highway at Waimea Bay by shortening the contra-flow lane to 300 ft after installing rockfall protection netting. - ➤ Makali‘i Andrade from Kauai underwent a six-hour vocal reconstruction surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in early May and now expects gradual nerve improvement over the next six months following a near-fatal surf accident. - ➤ Dr. Chad Koyanagi was awarded the 2026 NAMI Exemplary Psychiatrist Award Friday for his work as a street psychiatrist and for his key role in opening Iwilei’s Behavioral Health Crisis Center, which provides alternatives to emergency rooms for mental health care. Hawaii News Now
- ➤ First responders began CPR on a 22-year-old who was rescued from Makapuu Beach in Hawaii Kai on Friday—emergency care is in progress. Hawaii News Now
