ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ On Wednesday morning around 8:30 a.m., a two-car crash near the Kunia off-ramp on H1 hurt five people on Ewa Beach — including three children, and all injured were taken to a nearby trauma center as officials closed and later reopened the lanes by 9:57 a.m. KITV
- ➤ Honolulu EMS responded to a two-vehicle collision on the H-1 freeway by the Kunia exit at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday and treated five people, including a 39-year-old man, a 35-year-old woman, and three children ages 4, 7, and 8, who were rushed to hospital in serious condition. Hawaii News Now

- ➤ Police arrested two individuals after a traffic stop escalated when a suspect driver and his passenger drove toward the officers in Honolulu — an action police said endangered lives — and both now face charges of attempted murder of a police officer. Hawaii News Now
- ➤ A 40-year-old woman, Maile Eberly, bit two police officers on Monday, June 9 on S. Beretainia Street and was arrested for first-degree assault on a law enforcement officer—charges later were reduced to second degree with bail set at $3,000—her court date remains unscheduled. KITV
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Native Hawaiian filmmakers & actors are eagerly awaiting the premiere of a big-budget miniseries that tells the history of Hawaii using 'Olelo Hawai'i. The series, led by a Hawaiian team, will debut on August 1 and features a predominantly Native Hawaiian cast and crew. KITV
- ➤ Honolulu’s King Kamehameha Day events continue after the tribute at Aliʻiolani Hale—on June 13 a lei draping ceremony is scheduled and on Saturday a floral parade will travel from Iolani Palace to Kapiʻolani Park before ending with a ho’olauleʻa there. These celebrations honor King Kamehameha I and unite the community in remembrance of Hawaii’s history. Hawaii News Now
- ➤ Honolulu’s largest Bon Dance returns on Saturday, July 5 at Washington Middle School field (1633 S. King St.) for the 12th annual Mōʻiliʻili Summer Fest. The free event will feature cultural performances, more than 60 local vendors and food trucks to honor the Obon season and the history of Mōʻiliʻili and McCully. KITV

- ➤ Kilauea’s 25th episode of the Halema’uma’u eruption began on Wednesday morning at 11:57 a.m. and produced lava fountains from the north vent that reached over 500 ft — USGS officials said fountain heights are expected to increase in the coming hours. KITV
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Former Hawaii prep players Wehiwa and Kuhio Aloy from Baldwin now play for Arkansas in the College Baseball World Series after earning First Team All-SEC honors; their father, a former UH and S.F. Giants player, said they grew from underdogs into standout athletes. Arkansas will face LSU in Omaha on Saturday — Wehiwa is named SEC player of the year and a Golden Spikes Award finalist while Kuhio earned first-team recognition as the designated hitter. KITV
