ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • On Sunday morning a brush fire threatened homes near Kahikinui and at 11 a.m. MEMA officials issued an emergency evacuation order near Mile Marker 24 and 25 — residents were told to leave immediately via the Genasys Protect app, MEMA alerts, and door-to-door visits.  KITV
  • A 20-year-old man was critically injured on June 14th at 1:31 p.m. on Kamehameha Hwy in Haleiwa when he was pinned between a vehicle driven by an 18-year-old and an unoccupied car after the driver crossed into the eastbound lane, and he was taken to a nearby hospital as police ruled out speed, drugs, and alcohol as factors.  KITV

  • Eddie Flores, co-owner of L&L Hawaiian Barbecue, will host a book signing for his new book 'Franchising the American Dream' at Barnes + Noble at Ala Moana Center on June 21 at 2 p.m. Proceeds will go to the Chinese Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii Foundation.  Hawaii News Now

CRIME NEWS

  • Honolulu Police responded to reports of gunshots near The District Nightclub in Ala Moana at about 2:50 a.m. early Sunday (no injuries were reported) and opened a Reckless Endangering in the First Degree investigation with no arrests so far.  KITV
  • A 20-year-old man was arrested early Sunday for second-degree assault after he discharged a gun at a Waianae home and shot a 9-year-old girl who was treated by private vehicle and is in good condition — she is now in protective care.  Honolulu Star-Advertiser
