- ➤ A 43-year-old man was stabbed multiple times at Makiki Shopping Village shortly after midnight on Thursday while using an ATM—he was hospitalized in critical condition and police are searching for the suspect who fled with his money. Hawaii News Now
- ➤ Jason Walker, a 49-year-old Waikiki 7-Eleven employee, attacked a customer with a sword in July 2022—severing the victim’s hand and causing serious injuries—and was found guilty on July 3 with sentencing set for Oct. 22. KITV
- ➤ Authorities said a woman was seriously injured by an apparent gunshot wound on Friday — at around 7 p.m. on Kapolei Parkway in Ewa Beach — and police are investigating the incident. Hawaii News Now
- ➤ Honolulu police arrested a 28-year-old man accused of setting fire to the Sheridan Community Park playground Monday, June 30 — surveillance cameras filmed him at the scene and nearby ignitable liquids spurred his first-degree arson charge. Hawaii News Now
- ➤ Residents reported hearing gunfire at Ma‘ili Beach Park just after midnight on July 4 when what they thought were fireworks turned out to be shots — bullet holes were found on family tents with police noticeably absent and one man remains in serious condition amid recent violent incidents along the Waianae Coast. - ➤ Honolulu police arrested two men on Friday, July 4 at 8:45 a.m. after reports of gunfire near a gold Honda in West Oʻahu—officers recovered a firearm with a high-capacity magazine and suspected drugs. KITV
