- ➤ A wildland fire in Maili claimed the life of a 94-year-old woman on Monday after she suffered smoke inhalation and burns and damaged two homes over 95 acres - fire crews fully contained the blaze later while officials began a damage assessment. Emergency responders coordinated with multiple agencies during the incident, and no additional injuries were reported. KITV

- ➤ The state passed a new law to put two existing insurance funds in place for apartment associations in aging condos that cannot get or afford coverage for hurricanes and other risks—ensuring a safety net for those unable to secure private policies. Hawaii News Now
- ➤ Honolulu Police Department is hosting a Gun Buy Back event on Saturday, July 12 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Wahiawa Police Station where residents can safely turn in unwanted firearms for gift cards; participants will receive $100 gift cards for handguns, rifles, shotguns, bump stocks, and Glock switches—$200 gift cards will be offered for automatic firearms, semi-automatic rifles, and ghost guns.
