- ➤ A wildland fire in Maili claimed the life of a 94-year-old woman on Monday after she suffered smoke inhalation and burns and damaged two homes over 95 acres - fire crews fully contained the blaze later while officials began a damage assessment. - ➤ The state passed a new law to put two existing insurance funds in place for apartment associations in aging condos that cannot get or afford coverage for hurricanes and other risks—ensuring a safety net for those unable to secure private policies. Hawaii News Now
