  • A Honolulu city bus crashed into a wall in Kalihi near the intersection of Middle Street and Kaua Street at around 6 a.m. (Monday) and Honolulu police and EMS responded with no word on injuries.  Hawaii News Now

  • Matson, Hawai‘i’s largest ocean cargo carrier, announced it will stop accepting new electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles for shipment effective immediately—rising lithium-ion battery fire risks prompted the decision and it may lead to shipping delays and higher costs. CULTURE NEWS

  • On Monday, volunteers and community members finished the final phase of the Halealoha Haleamau burial vault at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam using traditional Hawaiian techniques—washing and carefully placing lava rocks to build the protective barrier wall. The sacred vault, founded in 1997 and serving as a permanent repository for Native Hawaiian burials, was celebrated with the Joint Base commander in attendance.  Hawaii News Now

  • HALAWA, an Andrews 56 from the Waikiki Yacht Club, crossed the finish line of the 2025 Transpac Race on July 13 after a 2,200-mile journey from Long Beach and placed second in Division 5 and 19th overall—its 11-member crew now waits for the remaining boats to finish to learn the final results.  KITV
