CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A 37-year-old man from Kailua-Kona named James Haskins was charged with multiple first-degree drug offenses and unauthorized possession after police recovered 47 grams of methamphetamine, a digital scale, zip packets, two smoking pipes, and a debit card in his vehicle following a search warrant—his bail was reduced to $100,000 and he will return to court on Friday. - ➤ A recent study ranked Hawaii 9th nationally for bicycle theft as 1,110 bikes were stolen in 2023—local cyclists reported that many bikes were not locked securely and urged riders to use high-visibility areas for locking up their bicycles. Hawaii News Now

- ➤ The 48th annual Prince Lot Hula Festival returns to Honolulu this weekend — it is the largest non-competitive hula event in Hawaii. Hawaii News Now
- ➤ Hundreds attended the premiere of the Apple TV+ miniseries 'Chief of War' in Ko Olina on Friday, where Jason Momoa starred as Ka’iana in a story about King Kamehameha’s unification (the series was filmed in both New Zealand and Hawaii).
