- ➤ Honolulu homeowners are reminded by the Department of Budget and Fiscal Services that the deadline to apply for the real property tax credit is Sept. 30, and the credit will lower 2025 property tax by using a calculation that subtracts 3% of 2024 income. Homeowners must have a home exemption for both 2025 and 2026, not own other property, and earn under $80,000—applications are available at city halls, libraries, and other designated offices.
