ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ On Saturday, the Honolulu Fire Department rescued an injured adult female hiker and safely transported a second hiker from a mountain top above Kalahea Hills in Kailua after receiving a 911 call at 1:15 p.m.—arriving at 1:25 p.m. and providing medical care before transferring the injured hiker to EMS by 2:01 p.m.—with all personnel remaining unharmed. - ➤ State Health officials will soon implement new cottage food rules that let local entrepreneurs sell homemade jams, baked goods and sauces without using costly commercial kitchens. Public hearings were held in June after HB2144 was enacted last year, and Gov. Green is expected to sign off on the new rules—helping small businesses expand their sales both locally and out-of-state. Hawaii Free Press

- ➤ Honolulu police arrested a 47-year-old man late Saturday in Nanakuli after pulling him over around 11:10 p.m.—a check showed he was driving a stolen motorcycle without a license and he was booked in the 92-0200 block of Farrington Highway. Honolulu Star-Advertiser

- ➤ Sunday marked the 182nd La Ho'iho'i Ea celebration at Thomas Square where local leaders and community members honored Hawaiian sovereignty started by King Kamehameha III and commemorated the restoration of independence on July 31st, 1843 — the event celebrated the enduring spirit of the Kanaka people. - ➤ Governor Josh Green signed several pro-development bills after earlier planning to veto them—SB66 speeds up building permits by offering an expedited option if counties do not act in 60 days, while SB15, HB830, and HB126 address historic review delays and asset forfeiture reform.
