- ➤ Honolulu Police arrested a 70-year-old man, Antonio Vierra, in Kunia for intentionally setting a brush fire near homes on August 23 with help from wildfire cameras & social media and an off-duty officer, and he faces second-degree arson charges while investigators continue looking into other fires. - ➤ A homeless man died Sunday in Wahiawa after a pack of five dogs mauled him at an encampment near 525 Avocado Street overlooking Lake Wilson, and city and state officials plan to condemn the neglected property—marked by boarded-up windows and abandoned structures formerly used for an illegal game room—as a step to address public safety concerns.
