- ➤ A Hawaii nonprofit received a $2.5 million grant from the Bezos Day 1 Families Fund to build supportive housing programs and help reduce youth homelessness. RYSE will use the funds over five years to offer shelter, food, health care and other essential services—aiming to keep families together. Hawaii News Now
- ➤ Honolulu’s Department of Customer Services and the Hawaiian Humane Society teamed up to launch new pet license plate decals that let drivers show support for local animal care. The decals, available in dog, cat, or bird designs, cost $30.50 initially and $25 annually — with $20 from each sale benefiting the Humane Society. KITV

- ➤ Chance Swanson, a 33-year-old off-duty lifeguard, was discharged Monday from The Queen’s Medical Center after a shark bite while surfing near Hanalei Bay that severed a major artery — he underwent seven procedures — and he will recover on Kauai as doctors expect he can run, surf and ride dirt-bikes again. - ➤ Hawaii's construction industry saw a shift — private projects now make up 74% of work instead of public ones. KITV

- ➤ Retired ocean safety lieutenant Bill Ingram received the Honor a Responder Award—he served Oahu’s shorelines for 46 years. His decades-long work has earned him respect among first responders. Hawaii News Now
- ➤ Mayor Rick Blangiardi honored Oahu’s exceptional first responders in a ceremony that featured leaders from Honolulu’s first responder agencies — including the police, fire, ocean safety and emergency services departments along with SERVPRO.
