- ➤ Researchers from the University of Hawaiʻi and the Department of Health found that life expectancy in Hawaiʻi dropped from 82.1 years before COVID to 80.7 in 2021, recovering partially later. The study shows high vaccination rates & early public health actions helped limit the decline compared to the national average. Hawaii Free Press

- ➤ At the Honolulu Marathon today, Tsegay Weldlibanos became the first man to finish in 2:14:28 while Calli Hauger-Thackery finished in 2:30:43 as thousands continue running along the course. KITV
