- ➤ On May 25th, Honolulu fire crews responded to a brush fire on Prospect St.—officials closed the street between Huali and Pele—and firefighters had water on the blaze by 2:21 p.m. with no evacuations needed. KITV

- ➤ On Saturday night at 8:10 p.m., a 53-year-old woman riding her moped was critically injured in a hit-and-run in Kalihi at the intersection of North King St. and Kohou St.—the driver fled the scene and police are investigating the incident. KITV
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Forty-one percent of JABSOM’s 2025 graduates are staying in Hawaii for residency training, a 10 percent increase from last year that supports local efforts to fill a critical physician shortage. A new Family Medicine Residency Program on Kauai will begin in 2026 as part of a broader push to bring more doctors to rural communities & expand training opportunities. Hawaii Tribune-Herald
