- ➤ At the Wahiawa Freshwater State Recreation Area, Hawaii Foodbank held its Kau Kau 4 Keiki program to give families 7-day meal boxes—filled with canned goods, rice, oatmeal and local staples—to help feed children during summer break. - ➤ A 36 year old motorist struck a 62 year old wheelchair user crossing north on Farrington Highway west of Kaukama Street at 11:39 p.m. Thursday night and the victim died after being taken to hospital — police said speed, drugs or alcohol do not seem to be factors. Hawaii News Now
- ➤ A 62-year-old man in a wheelchair was killed when a 36-year-old driver struck him while he was crossing Farrington Highway outside a marked crosswalk near Kaukama Street in Maʻili on July 29—police said speed, alcohol, and drugs were not factors as the investigation continues. KITV
