- ➤ A 20-year-old motorcyclist was critically injured in a crash in Kalihi Monday afternoon when he ran a red light and collided with a car near the intersection of North King and Kokea streets — Honolulu police said he was taken to hospital while the car’s driver and passenger, age 58 and 86, were unhurt. - ➤ In Circuit Court, prosecutors stated that alleged gang leaders controlled Module 13 at Oahu Community Correctional Center and delayed help for detainee Christopher Vaefaga—who was beaten and left without aid for hours—prompting charges of manslaughter against the accused. Hawaii News Now

- ➤ A scientific expedition off the west coast of Hawaii Island completed a two-week imaging survey last month to test for a vast underground reservoir of fresh or brackish water beneath the seafloor. - ➤ The Hawaii Department of Health advises residents to avoid Kalauao Stream in Aiea-Waimalu after a cracked private sewer line at the Colonnade on the Greens released 5,485 gallons of untreated wastewater into the stream.
